Welcome to Waiters Martial Arts Studio.  We have a special program designed to provide
our student with the following benefits:

* The emphasis of our program is on establishing discipline and courtesy in the child.
The structure of respect is built into Karate instruction, with bowing to all higher belts and
obeying the teacher's instruction without question.

* The program builds confidence and character by providing the child with controls over his/her body and an
ability to stand up to peer pressure and other intimidating situations.

* The movements of Karate develop coordination and increase strength and flexibility, which is very important
during the growth years.

* The awarding of higher levels of Karate belts gives the child a sense of achievement and accomplishment.
We keep this very much in mind.  Because the length of time for achieving belts can be from three to six months,
we award stripes on the belts as the child progresses between levels.  Training for these tests and passing
them enhances the child's ability to concentrate, plan for and triumph over learning hurdles.  This is an excellent
reinforcement of study techniques for school.

* Karate instruction also involves free-style competition (sport karate). This helps develop a sense of fair play in
a controlled competitive situation.

* The foundation of Karate is its self-defense value.  However, we are very careful to teach children that Karate
is not to be used outside the Karate class in any manner other than in true self-defense.  The result is a
self-confident child, who does not need to bully or show off to other children.

* And finally, Karate is good, clean fun for kids, a great way to burn off extra energy.  If you have any questions,
feel free to talk to me or any instructor.  We believe strongly in the value of our program for all ages, especially
for the young, who can benefit from Karate the rest of their lives.

Sincerely,
Kyoshi Corey Waiters

I will develop self-discipline in order to bring out the best in myself and others.

I will use what I learn in class constructively and defensively to help myself and my fellow human being
and never be abusive or offensive.

This is a Black Belt school, we are dedicated, we are motivated.  We are on a quest to be the best.
Traditional Japanese-Okinawan & Korean Martial Arts
At the early age of seven (7) years old a young man had a dream to become the best in Martial Arts.  As he grew, his
dreams of becoming Chief Instructor expanded with motivation, determination, and  a great deal of discipline.  He also
realized what it took to make his dreams come true.  From the age of 7 through 12, he won several Youth
Championships Titles. From the ages of 13 - 16, he won major Junior Championships in such cities as Atlanta, GA,
Washington DC, Virginia and Florida.  He refused to stop there; he pushed to be the best that he could be.

He has now gained over thirty years experience in the Field of Martial Arts, with the Rank of Master Instructor of
Universal Karate Do.  He is a national and international sport Karate Champion.  He has been placed in several Halls of
Fame for the nation's top Karate Fighters.  He is promoter for the Union County Karate Nationals, one of the largest
events ever held in Union County.  He is also the owner of Waiter's Martial Arts Academy in Pageland and Kershaw.

With all this, arrogance has not prevailed; to him the most important purpose in his life is serving God.  Realizing
that with God, all of his dreams are possible.  He realized his love for helping children.  In his view, it takes caring
people to help them stay focused on positive things, and to reach their goals in life.  With this, he has designed an
outstanding program at Waiter's Martial Arts.

In teaching Karate, he has had great experiences with may Children and Adults.  Most of his Karate Children have
become disciplined, top in their class, and will forever in the back of their minds and hearts keep the importance of
Physical Fitness.  Through his teachings, he has help many understand and keep the importance of Physical Fitness
alive.  He has given Children a chance to achieve dreams, and in doings so, kept them from drugs, alcohol and out of
gangs.

With all that he had done, and with all that he does, and will do, he never forgets to say "Thank you God for allowing
me to serve you".
